I don't see it as any more ridiculous as Scorponok's scorpion mode, with its vestigial legs and uselessly short tail, or Trypticon's imagination-fueled base mode. Maybe I'm just a contrarian but I like this alt mode. Here's a pic with Siege Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime for comparison: Needless to say, it's enormous, though it actually is the most compact and portable mode for this figure, given that its basically the robot curling up as tight as it can. Coincidentally, Metroplex was the only planet leader that I didn't own from Galaxy Force, so this version has the benefit of working in both a modern and vintage Galaxy Force planet leader line up.įirst things first, let's start with his alt-mode.

Each planet leader had a great character design that perfectly encapsulated what they were supposed to represent, and the whole team looked awesome together. Namely, I loved the Cybertron / Galaxy Force concept of different planets having their own Prime / Convoy, with a theme to match no less.

I'll preface this by saying that while I have no attachment to the character, I've always loved the idea behind him. I was fortunate to have some free time tonight to mess around with this thing so I wanted to share some thoughts and pictures. To my surprise, Metroplex arrived today from the somewhat sketchy, seemingly a companion to the equally somewhat sketchy, after only 2 business days.
